We are now seeking a dynamic and talented Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join Qenos. This role will form part of a team of specialist tradespeople who each have responsibility for safely maintaining all plant equipment.  Prime accountability is to ensure the safe running of the plant and there is no equipment downtime due to mechanical issues.  Other key responsibilities include:

  • Be an effective team member with a focus on continual improvement of reliability for the plant.
  • Be comfortable when working at heights or in confined spaces
  • Be tenacious when problems arise to meet operational and business requirements.
  • Monitoring, analysing & maintain rotating equipment.
  • Provide a depth of predictive maintenance skills for plant equipment, including fixed and rotating equipment.
  • Assess conflicting priorities and determine what is the critical path based on analytical thought/business processes.
  • Participate in work planning and goods issue including the use of SAP CMMS.
  • Perform risk analysis and develop safe work procedures.
  • Coordinate Contractors and Apprentices
  • Maintain and update maintenance information systems.
  • Take part in improvement teams within assigned area of responsibility to improve equipment performance of safety measures.
  • Experience in a major hazardous facility would be beneficial.

  • You will possess excellent problem solving and trouble shooting skills.
  • Conduct precision maintenance with a high level of attention to detail and be able to demonstrate initiative.
  • You will have sound interpersonal skills, ability to effectively prioritise and be decisive.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and computer literacy is paramount. 
  • Experience with Stocker Fired Boilers would be favourable.
  • Trade qualifications, certificate 3 or 4 in Mechanical Engineering are essential.
  • Further education and competencies in condition monitoring will be extremely beneficial as will Experience with RCA .
